Building a Just and Healthy Society… In a nutshell, this phrase describes the mission (and the passion) of The Sierra Club Foundation. 

As a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, I’m pleased and honored to welcome you to our new web site, which showcases the Foundation’s effective use of strategic philanthropy to support Sierra Club and other non-profit organizations devoted to environmental protection and activism. 

The board and staff of The Sierra Club Foundation combine dedication to fighting climate change with an impressive and diverse range of real-world skills and experience.  We have experts in financial management and investment strategy, environmental protection, law, government relations, and communications, along with active solar energy entrepreneurs, managers of non-profit foundations, and community development and youth mobilization organizers. 

We use this wide range of experience and activism to support programs such as Sierra Club’s Climate Recovery Partnership, a broad coalition of scientists, grassroots activists, legal advocates, business leaders and others dedicated to moving America into a future that is economically prosperous and environmentally sound.
